Business cards are mini profiles so, don’t leave out any pertinent details!
When you get a business card from someone, what do you do with it?
You look it over and review the information. And if it’s a card from someone who you want to get in touch with in the future, you’re going to look that information over. You’ll likely check out any given information that is present on the card.
Most times, business cards are handed out or requested, so people can:
- Contact you
- Check out your website and information to glean more info about you.
Outside of the usual items such as your name, logo, business name, address, contact numbers and website, your social media profiles should be placed on your cards as well! It’s an item that is sometimes missing.
Your social media accounts also represent your business online and they can help foster “the Know, Like and Trust” factor. When your prospects are looking at your profiles, they are searching to find out more about you and your business. You could jeopardize an opportunity to gain a new connection, a new prospect and possibly a new client when you don’t have them available.
When you add your social media icons, add the url (link) for each profile as well. If your prospects are having a tough time finding you on the social media sites because the url is absent, they won’t continue to search for very long. Sometimes the social media account names do not match the business names because someone else has taken the name already, therefore making it even harder for you to be found!
Simply adding the icons from the social media profiles that you have, may not be enough. You need the urls added because you want to make it easy for people to find you! And you want to give them an opportunity to get to know you in every way possible!
One way to do this is and conserve space on your card, is to add the suffix of the url beside each icon. The following examples and image demonstrate what I mean.
Facebook Icon – /FacebookPageName
Twitter icon – @TwitterID
LinkedIn icon – /in/LinkedInProfileName
Instagram Icon – /InstagramAccountName
**Bonus Tip – Capitalize the words in the links to make it easier for people to read.
